Calculus Credit by Examination

Information for Fall 2021 Exams

Students should plan on the calculus credit exams taking place in-person in line with the current plan for the fall semester to be in-person. Since there are a lot of variables that can affect the modality in which the credit exams are offered, this may change. Note that in-person credit exams are typically held on the first day of classes.

Disclaimer Due to COVID-19

The exams will be offered remotely as an online exam only. No in-person exams will be offered. The exams will take place during the date/time specified in the Exam Date/Time & Registration portion below.

NOTE: you can only take a given credit exam once (e.g., if you take the MATH 221 exam on January 24 you will not be eligible to take the exam for a second time on January 27). You will need your student ID (or, if unavailable, a picture ID) in order to submit the exam.

Two hours will be allowed for each exam, and will be open in a specified time window. Some additional time will be given for uploading solutions right after each exam.

You will receive an email with instructions on how to access the exam and upload your work one week before the scheduled date. You will need access to a computer and reliable internet service. We do not recommend taking the exam on a tablet or mobile device.

The exam will use the online software WebAssign (you do not need to download or get access to the software ahead of the exam). After the exam you will also be required to upload pictures of written solutions to your answers.

The exam will use the proctoring service Honorlock:

  • Information on Honorlock, system requirements, FAQs, etc.
  • If your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements, this website has information on how to request a laptop to check out.
